On December 28, Star Explorer begins her first voyage with Windstar, sailing round-trip from Barcelona with calls in Valencia, Cartagena, Gibraltar, Málaga and Palma de Mallorca. It’s an easy story to share with you: the Windstar debut of Star Explorer and New Year’s Eve in the Mediterranean, all in one sailing.

Just 224 guests will be aboard, with 112 all-suite accommodations, including suites with private verandas and Infinity Suites with floor-to-ceiling windows that open to the sea. Basil + Bamboo brings Mediterranean and Asian flavors together in one of the yacht’s specialty dining experiences.

Then, on New Year’s Eve, the celebration moves to the open deck with a gala dinner, live music and a favorite Windstar tradition: one of our longest-serving crew members rings the yacht’s bell to close out the year before passing it to one of our newest to ring in 2027.

There’s only one first New Year aboard Star Explorer.
