Riu Jalisco Riviera Nayarit, Nayarit, Mexico

“A very nice well run hotel”

This is our second trip to the Pacific Coast of Mexico although we have traveled a lot to the Caribbean as well. First, this is an exceptionally well run resort. Staff are very happy and it shows in the exceptional service we received December 11-18th 2015. We stayed in room 6178 which had a great view. Everything from the rooms, restaurants, buffets and bars were excellent. There are many repeat guests which says a lot. We did all of the buffets and a la cartes and were pleased with each. Italian was my favorite for the food and the steak bar for the location. The beach is beautiful and clean and there are more than enough chairs both at the pool and the beach. No reserving necessary. Early morning coffee (before 7) is highly recommended from the sports bar but remember to decline the tequila! Check in was the best that I have seen. We were met at the stairs of the bus with a selection of cocktails and beer. We had our armbands before we got to the front desk and we were checked in within 2 minutes. Well done! I want to make a special call out to the animation staff for the Spanish lessons ("Words") early each morning. I have never done these before and they were helpful and fun. Who knew that Mexicans call a beer a "Chela"! We even learned a bit about Mexican culture. Thank you Fanny and Flaka for your time and patience! I would recommend the 45 minute walk (beach or road) to Bucerias as an alternative to the Malecon (if you have already seen it). Very nice people and lots to offer including shopping. My only (very small) complaint with the resort is that wireless Internet is only available in parts of the resort and you are limited in what you can do. Overall this was an excellent resort. Please feel free to ask if you have questions Greg
