“Resort servay”

Was at the hotel last year. Enjoyed the tennis and Kyacking. Running into Eulyssis and other staff members from last year and catching up with them was great too.

The strong points Good trip in general The weak points the two days that were overcast. Yet one of the two day I was in Havanna.

“First trip to cuba”

Hotel was very clean and the staff friendly. The food, was quite good, if you use little or no salt. Which we do. Frequent salt users will find their food very bland. The beaches were wonderful, the weather terrific. We found overall, that the prices were high for the excursions, and since you loose 80 cents on the dollar, there are better value vacations to be had, HOWEVER, nowhere will you find cars like they have, still in use, everyday. The hotel also provide excellent musical entertainment.

The strong points Beautiful beaches, nice people, unique lifestyle. The weak points Too expensive. Excursions pricey. Better value for travel dollar had else where.

“Melia Las Antillas”

I went back to the Melia Las Antillas after 4 years. The hotel is still overall pretty good or above average for Cuba. The only thing that I noticed is that the food is a bit of lesser quality than before and I got very sick eating the cooked spinach. The beach, drinks and staff are great.

The strong points Great Staff and Drinks The weak points Careful what you eat.

“Antilles”

nice big property and reasonably quiet location

The strong points Good food and reasonable options for activities The weak points hotel needs some maintenance, fix the doors. The wing where I was, the doors stick so nobody (me included) could close room door without slamming it.

“Bad outweighed the good”

The Hotel itself was clean, just old looking and out-dated. The service was terrible at the lobby bar and restaurant in particular. It was the first time in my 6 trips to cuba that i felt obligated to tip for any kind of acknowledgement what so ever. And I do not have any problems with tipping either, my girlfriend and I are in the service industry and are quite generous with tipping. Usually i find the cuban people very friendly but in this hotel they gave off the impression that they were inconvenienced by english speaking tourists. Another thing about the hotel was the signage for what designated their property lines between neighbouring hotels. So many "hustlers" on the beach too, was really annoying especially after the 7th time being offered drugs while you're just trying to go for a relaxing swim in the beautiful ocean. I understand it was a public beach (which I will never deal with again) but to have locals swim up to you and offer weed and coca every half hour was aggravating to say the least. Normally the A La Carte restaurants are a blessing to escape the general dining area, but they were terrible. Service was good, food was not. I have been to over 12 all inclusive resorts all over the Caribbean and Cuba included and this was the worst experience by far. Wont return to Melia Las Antillas

The strong points Beach, Room, Pool side restaurant The weak points Service, Lobby Bar, drug dealers

“Second Visit”

Upon arrival we where not greeted very well. We had to switch our room 3x due to smell and or no safe. There where cock roaches in the food at the buffet. However you can eat at the beach grill which was very good and the bar tender there was amazing we made a great friend on the entertainment staff who was funny and fun but the rest where not fun and barely did there job. The drinks where good and the beach was amazing.

The strong points Service at the beach and the entertainment staff The weak points Smell in the washrooms, bugs in the food and rude service at the desk.

“Pretty Good”

Good value for money.

The strong points Beautiful beach, good food with variety (never got food poisoning but avoided salad bar), nice staff, talented entertainment staff. The weak points Rained a lot last couple of days. Water leaked through ceilings in couple places (lobby). Our room always had a loud, consistent humming (water pipes). The buidling next to ours had their fire alarm ringing 15 mins at a time - no staff checked up for while

“Nice hotel”

The area was nice with a beautiful beach. the hotel itself seemed a little older with rooms that could have had a fresh coat of paint. Actually some painting was being done while we were there. It was however very clean and staff was pleasant.

The strong points Beautiful beach and beach staff excellent. Food was very good. The weak points Rooms in need of a little updating

“Great vacation”

Clean rooms but musky probably due to the tropical climate. Beds were comfortable. rooms had 220 v. Very sweet and friendly staff. Food - Hotel made food interesting everyday! Theres a bar grill close to the beach for perfect smokey hamburgers and bruchette. They also had a whole roasted pig by the pool side. Chocolate fondue at dinner time and the highlight... Langosta buffet on fridays! The real deal Lobsters. Amazing! Best restaurant hands down the El condo(rancho?) Differet bands play at lunch time dinner menu was also great. Very nice long beach shore, shallow waters and relatively calm waves. People would leave their towels for HOURS to reserve their umbrellas though. Frustrating at times, Hotel management should address this ... I would also suggest more beach activities - night bonfire or dancing. Life guard should be more attentive to whoever are on the beach and not be playing volleyball all the time. Entertainment- theres a band that plays every night by the lobby bar, but the nightly shows could be improved greatly.

The strong points Beach, Beach bag/grill, Langosta buffet. Staff. Live bands at lunch time The weak points Italian restaurant.
