Hurtigruten

Welcome to the world of Hurtigruten Experience a world of exploration, breathtaking landscapes and thrilling adventures. The fleet of Hurtigruten is purposely- made to bring you to the most remote corners of Norway. One of Hurtigruten's 11 ships leaves everyday! Go on the 6-day / 6-night Northbound Voyage or on the 5-day / 5-night Southbound voyage, or see it all by taking the 11-day / 11-night round-trip voyage!

It all started over 118 years ago in the rich fishing grounds along the Norwegian coast when the government decided to create a connection between the North and the South of Norway.  Hurtigruten – meaning “the fast route” – was born in 1893 with Captain Richard Witch, the maritime route being the fastest at that time. Today, Hurtigruten still takes freight and passengers and bring them closer to the heart of Norway on what many call “the World’s Most Beautiful Voyage”.

The best way to discover the Norwegian Coast  Hurtigruten classic voyages offer 12, 11, 7 and 6 day options at over 30 ports, many not accessible to other ships, taking you closer to the heart of Norway. Ports which are visited by night on the journey northbound are visited by day on the journey southbound. In larger towns and cities you will have plenty of time to stroll ashore or take one of our varied shore excursions. At smaller ports ships may stop for 20 to 45 minutes, just enough time to load/unload freight and passengers or for you to stretch your legs on shore and experience life in a small coastal community. Today, Hurtigruten remains an integral part of Norwegian life. One of their 11 ships departs Bergen daily year-round, sailing to Kirkenes and back in 12 days at an average speed of 15 knots. The very ends of the Earth   Hurtigruten  is well-equipped for navigating through polar environments taking you in safe and comfortable surroundings to some of the most remote and enticing regions you will ever have the privilege to experience.
