Carnival Panorama Coin Ceremony

About Italy

Carnival Panorama Coin Ceremony

With the debut of Carnival Panorama less than a year away, we celebrated her exterior completion at a ceremony held at the Fincantieri shipyard in Marghera, Italy where a commemorative coin was welded to the ship's mast in a time-honored maritime tradition. The coin had a long and exciting journey from its home state of California to the Fincantieri shipyard in Italy, and we managed to capture it on video.

The coin ceremony is a tradition that is centuries old that dates back to ancient Romans who believed that attaching coins to a ship provided divine protection. My colleague, Benoit Clement, our senior vice president of newbuilds, represented Carnival at the ceremony with Antonella Cazzin, an employee of Fincantieri's shipyard in Marghera for more than 35 years serving as godmother for the coin ceremony.

Carnival Panorama will be the first new Carnival ship homeported on the West Coast in 20 years. She will be the third ship added to the Vista class, joining Carnival Vista and Carnival Horizon. As one of our newest ships, Carnival Panorama will offer your clients indoor and outdoor dining, bar, entertainment, as well as the first-ever trampoline park at sea, part of our exclusive partnership with Sky Zone. Other exciting attractions onboard include aerial attraction, SkyRide, and a massive WaterWorks aqua park.

We're sure your clients will really enjoy their experience of the tropics aboard Carnival Panorama, with the tropical-inspired Havana staterooms and suites with exclusive daytime access to a Cuban-themed bar and pool. Start booking your clients today, they will thank you.
