A new art gallery in Carcross, south of Whitehorse, is dedicated to promoting Yukon artists. The Yukon government is providing the gallery, Art House Carcross, with $75,100 in funding over two years.

The space will allow the territory's artists to showcase their work to regional, national and international visitors, said Economic Development Minister Stacey Hassard.
The Yukon Arts Centre in Whitehorse, the territory's premier venue for performing and visual arts, will curate displays at the gallery.
The centre will work with the Carcross/Tagish First Nation and the Southern Lakes Artist Collective to develop a “unique art space,” YAC gallery director Mary Bradshaw said.
Carcross is on the Klondike Highway about 45 minutes from Whitehorse.
