Shooting at Bondi Beach, Sydney Last night (Sunday 14 December 2025)

Posted on 12/15/2025

I am sure many of you are already aware of a terrorist attack at Bondi Beach in Sydney last night. Although there is still a lot of detail to come, however what we do know so far is:

•    Gunfire was heard at about 6.40pm at Bondi Beach last night.
•    There were 2 gunmen, a father and son. One was killed at the scene, and the other is in custody.
•    15 innocent people have been killed and 40 additional people have been hospitalised.
•    It appears to have been a targeted attack on an event “Chanukah by the Sea” festival, celebrating the first day of Hanukkah.
•    Several improvised explosive devices were also found in a car near the beach, which was linked to the gunman who was killed.
•    One man and one woman were arrested at a residential address in Southwest Sydney last night following the shooting, with police confirming the arrests were related to the attack.

My 16-year-old daughter, Grace, was at Bondi when this happened and like many others, she had gone with a girlfriend to have a fun afternoon at the beach, and they intended to stay for dinner and watch the sunset.  Luckily, I was able to drive over to Bondi Beach while talking with her on the phone during the shooting and bring them home safely.

This is a huge shock to all of us who live in Sydney and Australia. You never feel something like this can happen in our country, but we can’t expect to be immune to these appalling events. What makes me so proud is that we are a huge melting pot of nationalities, that for the most part get on with each other and celebrate our differences.

Yesterday’s attack showed the worst and best of humanity.  The two shooters have no place in our society, whereas the public who ran towards the danger to help the injured, and in the case of one man who tackled and disarmed one of the gunman with no thought of his own safety, shows the best of humanity. Hopefully, the worldwide media will focus on both.

We did not have any guests staying in Bondi yesterday, and as the shooting happened in the early evening, all day tours that visit the beach had been completed.

Thank you for the lovely emails we have already received overnight, offering your support, and if you have any concerns or questions, please do not hesitate in contacting myself, Raf or Anna on the below contacts.
