NOT YET Presidential visit delays Cuba cruises

When Pearl Seas started booking cruises to Cuba, it was with the expectation that Cuba would give approval for American cruise lines to sail to the destination by March 6. That was not the case, and voyage for that date was cancelled, as was the second one scheduled for March 16.

"Pearl Seas Cruises received notice on March 10th that the meeting with the Cuban government, where we expected to receive final approval, had been postponed until after President Obama's visit," said Pearl Seas vice president Timothy Beebe in an e-mailed statement. "Therefore we had to cancel the March 16, 2016 Cuba Cultural Voyage cruise." The cruise line has four more cruises scheduled for Cuba and in the meantime, Cuba Cruises, operated by Celestyal, and International Expeditions, is the only cruise line that allows Americans to sail to Cuba.
