Holland America’s ms Oosterdam was cleaned and then inspected by staff at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention after a number of passengers reported symptoms of Norovirus on a 15 day transatlantic cruise. 86 out of the 1,843 passengers and 18 of the 796 crewmembers complained of vomiting and diarrhea.

As the virus was spreading the cruise ship underwent enhanced sanitation procedures and the cruise line reported that only one passenger continued to exhibit symptoms.The ship was to sail to the Caribbean today.
