For the past two weeks, Chinese travellers to Italy enjoyed a little piece of ‘home’ as four members of the Chinese police force were stationed in Rome and Milan. The officers walked the streets with their Italian counterparts, helping Chinese nationals feel comfortable and get help with directions or attraction suggestions. (Video)

About three million Chinese visit Italy every year with the month of May receiving the highest amount of tourists.

It is a first for bilateral police cooperation between the two countries and the intent is to send Italian officers to China in the near future.

Chinese tourists appeared to be in favour with this arrangement. The Chinese officers turned out to be the object of interest as they were swarmed by holidaymakers taking more pictures of them, than the historical landmarks behind them.
