CRUISE STOCKS DOWN

Three publicly traded cruise lines are seeing a drop in share prices as a result of an advisory from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The centre has warned against pregnant women travelling to part of Miami in light of the many cases of Zika viruses that have been reported in the area.

Shares of Norwegian Cruise Lines and Royal Caribbean have fallen by almost 6.5% each and Carnival Cruise Lines is off just over 2.5%.
Last year PortMiami reported “a record in cruise passengers – nearly 4.9 million – sailed through the Port, more than any other cruise port in the world.”
The destinations that the cruise lines sail to including the Caribbean and Central America have also reported active Zika transmissions according to the CDC.
