Reminder: Cashless airport lobbies

As of today, cash payments are no longer accepted at Air Canada airport counters in Vancouver, St. John’s, Victoria, Regina, Saskatoon, Toronto City and Quebec City. Air Canada has already gone cashless at the following Canadian airports: Edmonton, Calgary, Winnipeg, Ottawa in June of last year; and is completely cashless at all airport lobbies in the U.S. as of January 8, 2019.

Customers have the option of paying for tickets, as well as baggage and other fees, with any major credit card; and can also pay for baggage fees when they check-in online, on their mobile device or at the airport using one of our self-service check-in kiosks. Further information on baggage fees may be found online.

For payment of any applicable baggage fees, it is recommended that customers without credit cards convert cash to a prepaid credit card prior to arriving at the airport.
Customers without a credit card will be redirected to a third-party ReadyStation Kiosk that offers cash conversion to a prepaid credit card. If these kiosks aren’t available at the station, they’ll be redirected to the Airport Currency Exchange or other convenience stores.

Air Canada physical gift cards are also accepted for baggage fees at the airport counter and can be purchased online at aircanada.com/giftcard.

A gentle reminder to communicate to your clients that prepaid credit cards (even those with a $0 balance) should not be discarded until travel has been completed. In case of a refund, all cost will be returned to their original form of payment.
