Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Ontario's premier, Toronto's mayor and the Chinese ambassador to Canada were at the Toronto Zoo yesterday to help announce the names of the panda cubs born there last October.

The public can get to visit the cubs starting Saturday.  The male cub is named Jia (jah) Panpan, meaning Canadian Hope, and his sister is called Jia Yueyue (jah you-you), or Canadian Joy.The prime minister tweeted photos of himself cuddling the cubs but media outlets were not allowed to capture the private visit. The cubs will live at the zoo for about two years and will likely be sent to China once they are weaned.
