Air Canada Vacations Launches New Sun Flights out of Toronto, Calgary & Ottawa

Air Canada Vacations (ACV) is launching four new Sun routes this winter season: Toronto –Cartagena; Calgary – Huatulco; Calgary - Los Cabos and Ottawa – Puerto Plata.

The Toronto –Cartagena service will start as of January 8, 2018 and will be operated by Air Canada Rouge. The Calgary – Huatulco service will start November 6, 2017 and will be operated by Air Canada Rouge. Calgary – Los Cabos will begin October 29, 2017 onboard Air Canada; and Ottawa – Puerto Plata will begin December 20, 2017 also onboard Air Canada.

All three seasonal routes are now available to book.

San Felipe de Puerto Plata, Puerto de Plata, often referred to as simply Puerto Plata, is the ninth-largest city in the Dominican Republic, and capital of the province of Puerto Plata. The city serves as one of the most important trading ports in the country. Puerto Plata is famous for resorts such as Playa Dorada and Costa Dorada, located east of San Felipe de Puerto Plata. There are a total of 100,000 hotel beds in the city. The only aerial tramway in the Caribbean is located in Puerto Plata, in which visitors can ride up to the Pico Isabel de Torres, a 793 meter high mountain within the city. The amber museum, is also a well-known attraction in this city. La Isabela, a settlement built by Christopher Columbus, is located near Puerto Plata.

Los Cabos, is a municipality located at the southern tip of Mexico's Baja California Peninsula, in the state of Baja California Sur. It encompasses the towns of Cabo San Lucas and San José del Cabo (the municipal seat), as well as the Resort Corridor that lies between the two. The area was remote and rural until the latter 20th century, when the Mexican government began to develop Cabo San Lucas for tourism, which then spread east to the municipal seat. The main draw is the climate and geography, where desert meets the sea, along with sport fishing, resorts and golf. This tourism is by far the main economic activity with over two million visitors per year.

Heroica Ciudad de Huajuapan de León is a rural city with a surrounding municipality located in the northwestern part of the Mexican state of Oaxaca. It is part of the Huajuapan District in the north of the Mixteca Region. It is located at the intersection of Federal Highways 125 and 190. The town was elevated to an honorary Mexican status in June 1843 in remembrance of The siege of Huajuapan, a battle between the royal army and the insurgents led by José María Morelos. The battle was won by the insurgents. The city was named after Antonio de León, a hero of the Mexican War of Independence.
