TRUMP HOTELS UNVEIL NAME OF NEW BRAND Just a hint of Trump

Trump Hotels previously announced that their new four-star brand hotels would not include the Trump name but still pay a ‘subtle’ tribute to The Donald. Well, the wait is over.

The new not-quite-Trump branded trump is to be called Scion, which is defined as either “a young shoot or twig of a plant, especially one cut for grafting or rooting” or “a descendant of a notable or wealthy family.”
We’re guessing it’s the latter they’re going for.
"We wanted a name that would be a nod to the Trump family and to the tremendous success it has had with its businesses, including Trump Hotels, while allowing for a clear distinction between our luxury and lifestyle brands," Trump Hotels CEO Eric Danziger said in a statement.
The new brand is to have “energized social spaces” for the tech-centric “we economy.”
Few details have been released but Scion hotels will be located in “city and resort locations that have a true sense of place and personality.”
"Our business at Trump Hotels is stronger than ever and we are incredibly excited about the future of Scion. We are so pleased to leverage our collective knowledge and experience to launch a brand that is vastly different from anything the industry has experienced before," said Ivanka Trump, executive vice president of development & acquisitions.
Meanwhile, Trump’s “tremendous success” story was somewhat undermined this weekend when the New York Times reported that, “Donald Trump declared a US $916 million loss on his 1995 income tax returns, a tax deduction so substantial it could have allowed him to legally avoid paying any federal income taxes for up to 18 years, records obtained by The New York Times show.
“The 1995 tax records, never before disclosed, reveal the extraordinary tax benefits that Mr. Trump, the Republican presidential nominee, derived from the financial wreckage he left behind in the early 1990s through mismanagement of three Atlantic City casinos, his ill-fated foray into the airline business and his ill-timed purchase of the Plaza Hotel in Manhattan.” According to the Times.
A $916 million loss?
You wonder how one self described genius businessman and his,"I only work with the best" team, managed to lose almost a billion dollars in just one year – or even a couple of years.
Perhaps Trump himself has the answer, “As long as you are going to be thinking anyway, think big."
