JOY IN CHINA

Posted on 04/01/2016

Norwegian Cruise Line’s first cruise ship built for the Chinese market is Norwegian Joy or Xi Yue Hao; a sister ship to the Norwegian Escape.  She will have some new features when she launches in the summer of 2017; some being a first for Norwegian, some being a first at sea.

The top deck will feature a two level competitive race track, where passengers can race each other in electric go karts for about five minutes and get their pictures taken at the finish.

The top deck will also have an open air laser tag course.

The Galaxy Pavilion will have three interactive dark ride simulators with 3D graphics, 360-degree surround sound and multi-sensory special effects.

Oculus will be introduced; a gaming and entertainment unit that can replicate the experience of soaring over mountains and oceans, walking along a cliff or being on top of a 10-storey building.

The ship will have hovercraft bumper cars.

Although there will be less cabins on the new ship, there will be more interconnecting cabins for families to stay together.

NCL Joy offers a total of 29 onboard dining options (9 are complimentary), 22 lounges/ bars, 3 swimming pools, 5 water-slides, 9 jacuzzies and 16 elevators.
