Carnival’s newest ship the Vista

Carnival’s newest ship the Vista offers the latest movie going experience - the first 187 seat IMAX Theatre at sea, with a three deck high screen. The ship’s Carnival Multiplex includes the Thrill Theatre where moving seats and bubble sprays make an interactive experience.

The cost is $12.95 for adults and $9.95 for children 12 and under and guests 55 and over for first-run movies.

SUCCESS IN FULL TEST RUN 

AIDA Cruises’ AIDAprima is the first cruise ship in the world to be equipped with a dual fuel engine that can be powered by LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas). Using LNG is expected to reduce nitrogen oxide emissions by up to 80 percent and carbon dioxide emissions by 20 percent. Last weekend it completed a full test run using LNG while in port.The 124,100-ton vessel will be able to accommodate 3,300 passengers and will be homeported year-round in Hamburg, Germany. 

SECOND HOMEPORT IN HAVANA

MSC Cruises will homeport a second ship in Havana from winter 2016 to the 2017 season when MSC Armonia joins MSC Opera. Canada continues to be a prominent market for MSC Cruises, with over one million Canadians cruising to the communist island. 

QATAR TEAMS WITH TUI 

Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) has announced an agreement with TUI to include Qatar in its itineraries for the 2017/18 season, bringing seven cruise ships with up to 17,500 visitors to Qatar. The agreement between QTA and TUI Cruises comes as a result of discussions started at the Seatrade Europe Forum held in Hamburg in 2015 helpings Qatar achieve its target of 250,000 visitors on board cruise ships in 2019.   

LUXURY AT SEA 

Luxury expansion continues for Crystal having recently signed for eight ships to be built through the Lloyd Werft Group. The shipyards in northern Germany are owned by Crystal's parent company, Genting Hong Kong. The new builds include four previously announced river cruise ships: Crystal Debussy, Crystal Ravel, Crystal Mahler and Crystal Bach which will be deployed in 2017 and through 2019 as well as two new river ships unnamed at this time. 

Crystal Endeavor, a 200-passenger luxury mega-yacht with polar capabilities is slated for delivery in August 2018 and the first of three 1,000-passenger ocean-going ships that will be part of the line's "Crystal Exclusive" class, which will also have onboard residences for sale, will debut in fall 2019.
