Schedule

1 Day Bucharest – Predeal Today you will meet your guide at the airport. You will go together along the Prahova Valley to Predeal. On the way you will stop to Sinaia, known as the Pearl of the Romanian Carpathians. Here you will visit the Sinaia Monastery, built in the 17th century by the monks from the Sinai Peninsula.

2 Day Predeal In the morning you will go to Brasov, city tour with visit of the town hall, the hidden Orthodox Church and the Black Church, the biggest Gothic sacral building in the Eastern Europe. Afterwards you will visit the Bran Castle, also known as Dracula’s Castle after the legend of the bloody prince. In the afternoon visit of the Peles Castle, the former summer residence of the Romanian Royal Family Hohenzollern.

3 Day Predeal - Radauti In the morning you will go through the eastern part of Transylvania. Then you will go along the Red Lake by the Bicaz Pass. The Bicaz Pass is an approximately 5 km long canyon in the eastern Carpathians. An entire wooded hillside slipped into the water and now even the logs come out of the water. Short stop at the Neamt Monastery built by the Moldavian Prince Stephan the Great. Late in the afternoon arrival at Radauti.

4 Day Monasteries tour In the morning you will first visit the Moldovita Monastery, world known for its paintings on the exterior walls. Across the Obcina Mountain you arrive to Sucevita Monastery, where you will notice another painting style. Near this area is located the Ceramic Center Marginea, where you can see how the black ceramic is made. In the afternoon you will visit the Voronet Monastery, known also as the Orthodox Sistine Chapel.

5 Day Radauti – Medias – Bazna Today we will go by the Tihuta Pass, from Bucovina to Transylvania. Short stop in Bistrita, to admire the church with the biggest tower in Romania. Afterwards we continue through Targu Mures, where you can see the Orthodox Cathedral and the Palace of Culture. In the afternoon arrival at Bazna. Afterwards carriage ride from Bazna until the fortified church in Boian.

6 Day Sighisoara This day is about the culture of the Transylvanian Saxons. After the breakfast you will first go to Biertan, where you will visit the biggest fortified church. Then we will visit Sighisoara. Here you can visit the Church on the Hill, the house where Count Dracula was born and also the Saint Mary Church.

7 Day Bazna – Sibiu – Bucharest In the morning city tour in Medias. Here you can visit the Margaret Church with the biggest winged altar. Then you will go to Sibiu, European Capital of Culture in 2007. Afterwards we continue along the Olt Valley by the Red Tower Pass, the ex-border between Transylvania and Walachia. Stop at the Cozia Monastery, one of the oldest monasteries in Romania. Late in the afternoon arrival at Bucharest. In the evening festive dinner with folklore program at the Pescarus Restaurant.

8 Day Bucharest – Return flight In the morning city tour in the Romanian capital. Here you will visit the Patriarchal Church, residence of the Romanian Orthodox Patriarch, the Village Museum with houses all over Romania and will make a stop at the Parliament Palace, the second largest building in the world after the Pentagon. Then we continue to the airport where you will say goodbye from your guide.
