According to Bernews, (Bermuda news source) a police spokesperson said, “At 1:40pm on August 20, 2016, police received a report of a death onboard the cruise ship, Royal Caribbean Grandeur of the Seas which was berthed at Heritage Wharf in Dockyard.

The ship’s doctor certified the death of a 45-year-old male from the United States who was found in his cabin when the ship was docked in Bermuda. “Foul play is not suspected and the Bermuda Police Service is liaising with the relevant ship authorities.”
Cay closed for upgrades
Yesterday Norwegian Cruise Line closed Great Stirrup Cay for refurbishment. The cruise line’s private island in the Bahamas is set to re-open October 20 after receiving upgrades that include new landscaping, new pathways, and a new boardwalk along the beach. There are also plans for two new zip lines, an underwater sculpture garden and a stage for entertainment.

European Waterways will be offering five new “Champagne Cruises” in Champagne, France, aboard the Panache luxury hotel barge in 2017. The departure dates are June 11, 18, 25 and July 2 and 9.
Panache can accommodate up to 12 passengers in luxurious comfort and features a crew of six that includes an English speaking guide, gourmet chef and an experienced captain. The 6-night itineraries are all-inclusive and charter bookings are also available.
Majestic Princess announcements
Princess Cruises announced Majestic Princess sails on her inaugural voyage, a five-day Adriatic Sea cruise round-trip from Rome with stops in Kotor and Corfu on April 4, 2017.
Following her maiden cruise, Majestic Princess will tour Europe, offering guests a chance to experience the ship on 7, 14, 21 and 28-day cruises departing from Rome, Barcelona or Athens.
A repositioning voyage will depart Barcelona on May 14, 2017, visiting Dubai and Singapore before arriving in Shanghai, her new home.
Majestic Princess will begin her first cruise from its home-port in Shanghai on July 11, 2017, carrying 3,560 guests to a variety of destinations in Japan and Korea.
Zumba
In the spring Royal Caribbean International Cruise Line is partnering again with Zumba creator Beto Perez to offer a five night cruise full of Zumba activities on the Navigator of the Seas. The sailing departs from Miami and has port stops in Nassau, Bahamas and Cozumel.
On offer, are 300 classes of the popular Latin dance taught by 50 instructors, including Perez.
Passenger jumps off charter yacht
NYPD Harbor Unit responded to a distress call from Riker’s Island last weekend. A 56 year-old man was dead after witnesses said he jumped off a cruise ship in Flushing Bay onboard the Skyline Princess.
It is reported that the man refused help, and eventually died after rescuers managed to get him back on the ship. The cause of his death is unknown.
