MEDIA RELEASE

EXPIRY OF NON MACHINE READABLE PASSPORTS The Ministry of National Security’s Immigration Division is advising that, effective Tuesday 24 November 2015, all citizens of Trinidad and Tobago must be in possession of a Machine Readable Passport (MRP) when travelling to a foreign country. This is in keeping with the timeline and standards set by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) for international travel. Citizens who are desirous of travelling abroad and have not yet applied for a Machine Readable Passport are strongly advised to do so, given that the old format passport will not be accepted for travel from 24 November 2015.
