LITTLE ANGELS Passengers are real dolls

Thai Smile Airways is taking advantage of the Luk Thep trend in Thailand. Luk Thep is a life-like doll that is believed to have supernatural powers. The dolls are popular and expensive and treated as real children, so the airline is inviting people to pay for a seat for the dolls to enjoy the full cabin experience!

Luk Thep translates to Child Angel and it is believed that soon after the manufacturing process, the dolls are absorbed with the spirit of child angels. Owners treat the dolls like spoiled children, dressing them in designer labels and apparently taking them on expensive vacations. It is believed that the coddling brings good health and fortune. A memo to staff from Thai Smile advises that the Luk Thep dolls have undergone a spiritualization process that breathes life into them. The spiritualized individuals must be given snacks and beverages and are required to buckle up during take-off and landing. The spiritualized individuals who don’t have a paid seat are treated like hand luggage and stored in the overhead compartment.
