Fred Olsen Cruise Lines NEW PLAYER IN RIVER CRUISE MARKET

Fred Olsen Cruise Lines NEW PLAYER IN RIVER CRUISE MARKET

Next year Fred Olsen Cruise Lines will be entering the river cruise market with 30 sailings along the Rhine, Moselle and Danube rivers from April to November. The vessel will be called Brabant, which is the same name of the cruise line’s historical passenger ship from the 1920s.

The ship is currently sailing as Amadeus Princess but will be chartered next year for the Fred Olsen sailings. There are reports that a second ship will be added, but there is no confirmation of that yet.

Fred Olsen will change the branding and livery but the hardware and furnishings will remain as they are. The ship accommodates 156 passengers and will offer a British menu with pounds sterling being the accepted currency.

Flights, transfers, meals and Wi-Fi will be included in the fare with the intent for a ‘drinks package’ to be offered similar to the one on their large cruise liners.

Shore excursions are excluded from the pricing.

Five to 25 night sailings will be offered from April to November 2018 and the same in 2019. There will be 12 different itineraries.
