FLYING SOLO Passenger goes it alone

A Chinese woman going from Wuhan to Guangzhou was flying solo last week. She was not only travelling without a companion, she was travelling without any other passengers on the Southern China Airlines plane that normally transports 137 passengers.

In the midst of mass travel for the Lunar New Year described as the world's largest human migration, weather played havoc with the already overcrowded planes, trains highway systems. A young woman, identified only by her last name, Zhang, boarded the flight that had been delayed for 10 hours (from 2:40pm on Sunday until 12:40am on Monday local time). Other passengers had made alternate arrangements for travel. When Zhang boarded she was the only passenger.

“I’m the only one on the plane! Yes! Just myself as the passenger! And the whole crew! I feel “tuhao!” (roughly translated as filthy rich) She posted images of herself in her cabin seat with the empty rows surrounding her. Her situation caused a frenzy of responses, including one from a person who commented that even though Zhang was the only passenger she still didn’t get upgraded.
