The courts are polished. The trophy cases dusted off. But it’s more than a simple restoration—it’s a revelation. Inspired by the nineteenth century train sheds that were their neighbors, they've built a terrace in the sky overlooking Millennium Park and the greatest of the Great Lakes and a Game Room designed to amaze and amuse. Architect Henry Ives Cobb—a charter member of The Association—imbued this magical place with a Gothic façade reminiscent of the Doge's Palace in Venice. Today, Chicago Athletic’s past lives on amid restaurants, lounges and ballrooms where a high-spirited, club-like atmosphere prevails, seamlessly melding into shared histories, past and future.

Set in an 1890s Gothic building that once housed an exclusive sportsmen's club, this chic hotel lies along the Chicago Cultural Mile in The Loop. It's across the road from the sculptures and gardens at Millennium Park, and 4 minutes' walk from an El station.

CHERRY CIRCLE ROOM
The darling of Chicago’s own Land and Sea Dept.—beloved for its distinctly American farm-to-table, nose-to-tail ethos—evokes visions of two (eh, make it three) martini lunches and post-trial feasts with Chicago’s midcentury powerbrokers.
Hours of Operation:
Brunch & Lunch from 7:00am to 2:30pm
Dinner from 5:00pm to Midnight (until 1:00am Thurs through Saturday).

SHAKE SHACK
With all the shaking going on at the Chicago Athletic Association, let’s not overlook the fact that ours is the first Shake Shack designed around a historic landmark. So bring your post-workout and after-party appetites to this contemporary landmark famous for its burgers, hot dogs, hand-selected beers and wines—and of course frozen custard shakes.

GAME ROOM
With its private alleyway entry evocative of the speakeasy era, The Game Room’s deep cocktail culture plays exceptionally well with the gamesmanship you’ll find on the built-in bocce bay, billiard and shuffleboard tables. Sporting a fresh and multifarious nightlife experience on the Association’s second floor, The Game Room is a playground homage to our men’s club past, created for a new era of competitive smackdowns.

MILK ROOM
We all know mixologists love their history, so given the epic past of the Association, a prohibition-era whiskey bar makes absolute sense. After all, the word whiskey comes to us from the Gaelic for water of life, something which many a club member once sought in one form or another. Now with one of Chicago’s best-loved mixologists, Paul McGee, fueling the spirits here and in The Game Room, our guests are creating some epic stories of their own.
