Carnival steps up to the plate

Passengers from the Ponant ship L’Austral were on an excursion boat when it started sinking off the coast of Greenland last weekend. The captain of L’Austral sent Zodiacs to safely rescue 23 passengers and three crewmembers. The boat was totally underwater within ten minutes of the reported leak. No one was injured.

Carnival steps up to the plate
When Carnival Cruise Line changed the dinnerware on all of its 25 ships, five different charities in the Charleston area became recipients of cups, bowls, plates and saucers, many of which were unused and still in original boxes.
These Charleston area charities included My Sister's House, Windwood Farm Home for Children, Habitat for Humanity Restore, Connie Maxwell Children's Home, and The Neighborhood House of Our Lady of Mercy.
"Some of the dinnerware will help clients set up their new homes," said Neighborhood House Director, Deborah LaRoche.

The vessel will be equipped with a fleet of 24 sea kayaks, paddle-boards, snorkelling equipment, and Zodiacs – fast, light boats that can be used to explore remote areas as well as a remotely operated vehicle (ROV), video microscope, and a hydrophone and bow-cam designed to film and record the underwater world.
Good start
Carnival Cruise Line’s new ship the Carnival Vista has been given the ECO Notation by Lloyd’s Register, making it the first ship from the cruise line to be recognized as being designed and built in a manner exceeding current maritime statutory environmental regulations.
