Can Canada look forward to a bumper year of British visitors? Hotel searches to Canada increased by over 60 percent in the UK last week following the visit of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, according to Hotels.com.

The company reported seeing the increase over the five days to Friday, September 30 compared to the previous year, since it was reported that the couple had started their royal tour of Canada.
There was also an increase of over 50 percent in searches for Vancouver in particular, as the couple arrived in the city.
A spokesman said, "It's no surprise that as lovers of everything royal, more Brits are looking to Canada to replicate the epic week-long trip.
"It's impressive to see this huge spike and hopefully the Royals are inspiring more British families to go and discover Canada, particularly the beautiful area of British Columbia."
