NEWLEAF SUSPENDS SOME FLIGHTS

Discount travel company NewLeaf is temporarily suspending flights into four cities including Kamloops and Victoria. Flights to Regina and Saskatoon will also be put on hold between Nov. 1 and mid-December. The discount airline said it will also temporarily halt all flights from Winnipeg to Victoria from November to the middle of December.

The company said it is putting service on hold for that time period while it reviews consumer demand.Company spokeswoman Julie Rempel said all other flights will continue to run and that the company is halting flights from Winnipeg to Victoria due to low consumer demand. "We're just readjusting." Rempel says if there's a large uptick in demand for service to Kamloops by mid-December, the company will continue offering flights to that market.She says NewLeaf will continue serving seven core cities including Kelowna.NewLeaf’s first flight took off from Abbotsford on July 29, this year.NewLeaf is not an airline but re-sells flights from Kelowna-based Flair Air.
