TravelBrands has announced the resignation of Nino Montagnese, senior vice president of sales and marketing. Montagnese began at TravelBrands in early 2015 where he was joined last September by his former boss at ACV, Zeina Gedeon, who is now CEO at TravelBrands.

Frank DeMarinis, president of TravelBrands, said, “Nino Montagnese has been a key player in TravelBrands` successes these last months. His work and dedication are a testimonial of his commitment to the company. Nino’s accomplishments throughout his career and during his tenure at TravelBrands are an asset to every company.

I would like to thank him for his work in the last two (sic) years and wish him every success in the future.” And where might that future be? Rumours were flying over the weekend – lots of rumours… Regarding Montagnese, the hottest - the red hot – one might say – has him returning to old haunts. Stay tuned.

Rumour also had TravelBrands buying itravel2000. The question there might be, why? Certainly, it would be interesting to know the purchase price, after all TravelBrands has only recently come out of CCAA protection and what could itravel2000 in its current incarnation bring to the table? And while we’re on the subject of TravelBrands there’s been a lot of “letting go” of travel agents. Among them, big producers from the legacy brands, who are being laid off or are getting their permanent walking papers. I’m not sure why or how this works, but presumably it makes sense on some level. I guess you have to be there...or not.
