INDIA EXPANDS E-TOURIST VISA PROGRAMME 150 countries now included

In November 2014 the Government of India launched an online visa service called e-Tourist Visa (e-TV) for travellers from 113 countries. On February 26, 2016, the e-TV facility was extended to 37 more countries taking the total count of countries under the programme to 150.

The new countries included in e-Tourist Visa are Albania, Austria, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Botswana, Brunei, Bulgaria, Cape Verde, Comoros, Cote d'lvoire, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Eritrea, Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Greece, Guinea, Iceland, Lesotho, Liberia, Madagascar, Malawi, Moldova, Namibia, Romania, San Marino, Senegal, Serbia, Slovakia, South Africa, Swaziland, Switzerland, Tajikistan, Trinidad & Tobago, Zambia and Zimbabwe. (Canada and the US were part of the original group.)The e-TV facilities are available for travellers flying into 16 airports in India -  Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Bengaluru, Chennai, Cochin, Delhi, Gaya,  Goa, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai,  Trivandrum,  Tiruchirapalli and Varanasi.Since its launch more than 750, 000 Visas have been issued under the e-TV system. Currently on an average 3,500 e-Tourist Visas are being granted daily to foreign nationals.The maximum cost of the e-TV is US$ 60 plus bank charges.
