COME EARLY Come often Charlottetown Airport

Increased flights from Charlottetown Airport means that this summer the airport will see the largest amount of morning traffic in its history. With increased seat capacity and new partnerships, passenger traffic has already increased by 23 percent since January. As a result, YYG is urging passengers to arrive 90 minutes before their flights.

At the end of 2015 WestJet launched daily service to Toronto, departing Charlottetown at 6:25 a.m.
At the same time Air Canada moved its Montreal departure to 5:45 am.
For the summer season Air Canada Rouge will offer non-stop service, twice daily between Charlottetown and Toronto.
The airport released a statement reminding flyers that Air Canada and WestJet require checking in 45 minutes before domestic departure times, so it is necessary to be at the airport far in advance of that deadline.
Charlottetown Airport CEO, Doug Newson, said "With more seat capacity than ever before, there is the potential for over 375 passengers to be going through security for flights between 6 and 6:45 a.m. on a daily basis in July and August."
He told Kevin Yarr of the CBC, "So it's really just an education piece to say, 'Come a little early.' We want to make sure people have an enjoyable experience and aren't stressed trying to get through long lineups."
