A DIGITAL TRAVEL LEADER With an airline attached

Ireland’s low cost carrier, Ryanair will launch its own low-priced accommodation business, Ryanair Rooms, in October. The airline is calling for interested providers of all types of accommodation, including hostels, BandBs, holiday villas and homestay options, to submit proposals.

Ryanair which currently partners with booking.com says accommodation for Ryanair Rooms must be offered at the 'lowest possible prices.’
The initial focus will be on the 33 markets served by Ryanair flights but could be expanded outside Europe.
The airline announced earlier this year that it intends to become a “digital travel leader that happens to have an airline attached to it”.
Last August, it launched Ryanair Car Hire in partnership with CarTrawler.
Ryanair is also planning “Ryanair Holidays” which could be launched within 18 months or even earlier.
The airline is apparently also looking at other online retail opportunities, selling travel-related products like luggage and sun cream.
