Itinerary Day 1-12 Prices and Dates 

Day 1: Canada – Hanoi 

Welcome to Vietnam!! 

Upon arrival at Noi Bai International Airport, you will be met by your travel guide and transferred to your hotel. Tomorrow you will explore Hanoi, Vietnam’s capital city, which boasts tree-lined streets, historic avenues and ancient temples. Accommodation: Flower Garden Hotel or similar for 2 nights 

Day 2:    Hanoi (B/L/D) 

Today you will embark on a city tour featuring Hanoi’s most famous sites including; Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum (outside view), One Pillar Pagoda and the Temple of Literature - Vietnam’s first university. Enjoy a walk around the Old Quarter in the afternoon and appreciate the local lifestyles as you wind through Hanoi’s streets. In the evening you will enjoy a Water Puppet Show – a traditional form of Vietnamese folk art, before tonight’s welcome dinner.

Day 3:     Hanoi – Halong Bay (B/L/D) 

Today you will travel by coach through the rich farm land of the Red River Delta to arrive at Halong Bay. Upon arrival you will board a cruise ship to visit the thousands of limestone islands filled with caves of all shapes and sizes. The sails of junks and sampans gliding along the clear and emerald waters of the bay form a magnificent scene that blends into the sky. You also have the opportunity to visit some of the hidden grottoes beneath the towering cliffs. Accommodation: Halong Paradise Hotel or similar for 1 night 

Day 4:    Halong Bay – Hanoi (B) Today you may choose to enjoy a morning of leisure or join an optional food tour to sample tasty local delicacies. Later you will be transferred back to Hanoi. Accommodation: Flower Garden Hotel or similar for 1 night 

Day 5:    Hanoi – Danang – Hoi An (B/L) 

Today, you will take a morning flight to Danang. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to the UNESCO World Heritage listed town of Hoi An, stopping en route at the Marble Mountains to enjoy the view of Danang. As an important trading route during the 15th to 19th centuries, Hoi An is now a unique blend of culture, cuisine and architecture. Step back in time as you wander the narrow streets of this charming former trading port, with its ancient covered bridges and temples Accommodation: Hoi An Garden Palace or similar for 2 nights 

Day 6:    Hoi An (B) Today you will explore Hoi An on foot, visiting an old merchant’s home, the Japanese Covered Bridge, Hoi An Market and a local Chinese temple. Enjoy the afternoon free at your leisure to wander through the town or relax at one of the many cafés along the picturesque Thu Bon River. 

Day 7:    Hoi An – Danang – Ho Chi Minh City (B/L) 

Today you will fly to Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Saigon). Upon arrival, enjoy a city tour which includes visits to Notre Dame Cathedral, City Hall, Central Post Office, and Ben Thanh Market. Accommodation: Eden Saigon Hotel or similar for 2 nights 

Day 8:     Ho Chi Minh City – Mekong Delta (B/L) 

Today you may choose to spend the day at leisure. Ho Chi Minh City is the largest city in Vietnam. Under the name Saigon, it was the capital of the French colony of Cochinchina and later of the independent republic of South Vietnam from 1955–75. You may also choose to join the optional tour to the Mekong Delta. On the tour you will travel to Ben Tre to discover the unique lifestyle of inhabitants living along the Mekong Delta. Visit fruit and bonsai gardens, a coconut candy workshop and a rice paper mill. Bike ride or travel by horse carriage along the village road and enjoy local delicacies and tropical fruits, before you head back to Saigon this afternoon. Note: Lunch will be included if you join the day tour to Mekong Delta. 

Day 9:     Ho Chi Minh City – Cu Chi Tunnels – Siem Reap (B/L) 

After breakfast, you will journey to the remarkable Cu Chi tunnels outside Ho Chi Minh City. During the Vietnam War, guerrilla fighters built a labyrinth of narrow tunnels, using them to hide in during bombing raids and to stage surprise attacks. Today, the remaining tunnels have become a major tourist attraction, giving visitors a unique understanding of what life was like during the Vietnam War. Lunch will be served at local restaurant. In the early afternoon you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Siem Reap. Upon arrival, you will visit Wat Bo Pagoda before checking in to your hotel. Accommodation: Central Boutique Hotel or similar for 3 nights

Day 10:     Siem Reap (B/L) 

You may enjoy day at leisure or choose to join the optional tour to Tonle Sap Lake, where you will explore life around the lake, schools, villages and markets. 

Day 11:     Siem Reap (B/L) 

Today, you will spend a full day exploring the Angkor Complex, visiting temples such as; Banteay Srei - known as the ‘Jewel of Khmer Art’ with its delicate decorations, Angkor Thom – the town of Khmer, the South Gate of Angkor Thom, Bayon Temple Complex, Terraces of Elephants, Terrace of Leper King and the Former Royal Palace. In the afternoon you will visit Ta Prohm, the only temple to retain its natural configuration, and is an example of how most of the temples of Angkor looked like at the time of discovery. You will also explore the Angkor Wat temple which was built by the King Suryavarman II in the middle of the 12th century over a period of about 30 years. 

Day 12:     Siem Reap – Departure (B)

Today you may spend your last morning at leisure. Later you will then be transferred to Siem Reap International Airport for your flight home. We hope you enjoyed your journey to Vietnam and Cambodia with us!
